If an authority (veterinary office) takes a sample of your product, do not reject the offered crosscheck. Store it in the freezer until the result is available to the authority. If you have any complaints, we are there for you!
Our team has officially approved cross-checking experts (according to § 43 LFGB). If necessary, you can quickly and directly commission a proper and professional counteranalysis. The official counter test is analysed and you receive a counter report, which is valid on front of authorities and court.
According to § 43 of the Lebensmittel- und Futtermittelgesetzbuch (LFGB - German Food and Feed Code), official monitoring is obliged to leave a part of the sample or, if impracticable, a second sample behind when taking a sample for the purpose of testing in order to enable the manufacturer to carry out a counter-analysis. The manufacturer may decide not to take the counter sample.
The counter-analysis must be carried out by a private expert authorised under the Regulation on the approval of private cross-checking experts and on rules for official cross-checks (GPV). Among others, state-certified food chemists or licensed veterinarians with a qualification as a specialist veterinarian in the area of investigation applied for (applied for area of investigation) or as a specialist veterinarian for public veterinary affairs can be admitted as cross-checking experts if they have two years of experience in investigation and assessment in the area of investigation applied for.
Testing laboratories in which cross-checks or duplicates are to be tested shall comply with the requirements laid down in Article 12(2)(a) in conjunction with Article 12(3) of Regulation (EC) No 882/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 29 April 2004 on official controls performed to ensure the verification of compliance with feed and food law, animal health and animal welfare rules and regulations (OJ L 165, 30.4.2004, p. 1, L 191, 28.5.2004, p. 1), as amended. The accreditation body within the meaning of § 1 Paragraph 1 Sentence 1 of the Accreditation Body Act is responsible for the accreditation of the testing laboratories.
SYNLAB Food meets these requirements.
The marketability tests are carried out in consultation with the manufacturers and, if desired, in accordance with the requirements and specifications of the retail chains. The examination is carried out in order to prove that a foodstuff is as defined by the LFGB and Regulation (EC) No. 178/2002:
