Identify and evaluate existing pollutants 

Soil is a legally protected good. Harmful changes to soil and groundwater can occur in particular through industrial, commercial, military and agricultural use. Proper precautionary measures, hazard prevention and disposal of contaminated sites are based on statutory precautionary and test values.

Extensive chemical analyses for substances contained in the soil are required for the following measures, among others:

  • Orienting investigation and detailed investigation of old sites and old deposits according to BBodSchV
  • Investigation of armament contamination
  • In-situ sampling before construction starts
  • Investigation of excavated soil and topsoil from heaps
  • Monitoring of soil treatment plants

The pollutant concentrations determined in the process are an important decision criterion for

  • Necessary remediation measures
  • Creation of monitoring programs
  • Calculation of costs for recovery or disposal
  • Professional disposal or reuse of excavated soil

In order to minimize the risk of undiscovered harmful soil changes, you only receive results that have been checked for plausibility.

SYNLAB Environment is accredited according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 for sampling and analysis and also has notifications according to the soil and contaminated sites module.

 

  • Old sites: contaminated sites of former industrial enterprises (e.g. gas works, abandoned tanneries or chemical cleanings)
  • Old deposits: Areas on which waste was previously treated, stored or deposited (e.g. municipal waste dumps or industrial landfills for production residues) and from which soil or groundwater contamination originates.
  • Military waste sites: sites where soil, water or air pollution is caused by chemicals from conventional and chemical warfare agents and which pose a risk to individuals or the general public, e.g. former production sites, munitions storage sites, blasting and shooting ranges, as well as intermediate and final storage sites for explosive ordnance.
